Peyton Manning is the best quarterback in football, regular season, postseason, duck season, wabbit season. The numbers prove it. The win column proves it. But it's all not enough for the envious football media.
Peyton, playing the most cognitively demanding position in sports, is treated like he plays a position that is solely based upon the avoidance of failure with a limited ability to have distinguished success, akin to a long snapper or a holder.
Adam Schein, the host of "Schein on Sports" on SiriusXM, suggested that "Peyton is scared of Brady". Peyton throws for 400 yards on 32 of 43 passing with no turnovers in a 10 point victory that was much more emphatic than that and I've been hard pressed to hear any questioning of Brady's composure in the face of Manning.
Yes, it's only one game in the 26 game playoff career of Brady. I'm a believer in the results of the other 25 to define his "legacy".
I'm going to go out on a limb and state that a sample of 240 is more representative of the whole than a sample of 22.
I'm going to define Peyton Manning's football playing ability on the unbelievable statistics he has posted through the duration of his career, regular season or postseason. The man has two Super Bowls and numbers (inflated certainly by era) better than any quarterback in the modern era, or any era for that matter. A believer in the superiority of rings to numbers I am not, but Peyton has quelled any concerns naysayers should have.
Love Peyton Manning for the juggernaut he is.
Don't resist the Omaha-laden greatness.
